Supporting Independence, Connection, and Belonging
At Common Ground Society, we believe in building an inclusive world where everyone is valued, supported, and empowered at every stage of life. Disabilities do not end in childhood, and neither should access to connection, resources, and community. That’s why we are committed to providing meaningful opportunities and support specifically for teens and adults with disabilities as they navigate adulthood, independence, relationships, and community life.
We offer meetups, social groups, and programs intentionally designed for teens and adults to foster connection, friendship, confidence, and belonging in welcoming, inclusive spaces. In addition to community-building opportunities, we provide guidance, resources, and support for adults living with disabilities and for the loved ones, caregivers, and family members who walk alongside them.
Above all, Common Ground Society is dedicated to ensuring that adults with disabilities are not overlooked but are recognized, included, and celebrated as vital members of our community who deserve every opportunity to thrive.
“I’m telling my story, I want people to realize that while I may look odd from time to time, get to know me. Talk to me. Don’t underestimate me. Take the time to find out what my strengths are and let me show you what I can do. Understanding is what anyone with a disability would like. We’re not the disability, it’s just something we live with.”

We Believe Strongly In Community
Connection is part of how we’re hard-wired as human beings and for many adults with disabilities, it can be a true lifeline. Over the past few years, we’re proud to have been able to bring adults with diverse experiences and diagnoses together to build community, share understanding, and support one another. While every person’s journey is unique, many of the challenges, hopes, fears, and ambitions are shared. The paths we navigate can be less forgiving, the uncertainties real and ongoing—and having people alongside you who truly get it makes all the difference.
Contact us for more information about upcoming meetups and other opportunities to get connected. Let’s continue to support, uplift, and show up for one another—together.
