Belonging from the Start
Belonging from the Start is a free, inclusive, nature-based playgroup for young children and caregivers at Veronda-Falletti Ranch in partnership with Sandy Loam and the City of Cotati. The program combines sensory play, caregiver education, peer connection, and take-home resources to support child development, school readiness, and family belonging.
Service Availability & Eligibility
The program is offered in four 8-week cohorts per year. Each cohort meets weekly for 1.5 hours and serves about 8–10 families. It is open to Sonoma County families with children ages 0–5 who are not yet in TK or kindergarten.
Who the Program Serves
The program serves families with children ages 0–5, with priority for children with developmental delays, disabilities, medical complexities, or social-emotional needs; Spanish-speaking or multilingual families; and families in low-income, rural, or under-resourced communities.
